Description
- Understand the shared product strategy and support the team to deliver it through thoughtful planning and people management.
- Have your finger on the pulse, be comfortable with autonomously making decisions about scope and capacity that balance short-term and long-term trade-offs.
- Conversely, have an intuitive sense of when more information is required to solve a problem and open up the communication channels to involve the right people at the right time.
- Facilitate and coordinate planning activities such as quarterly roadmaps, engineering team capacity, and sprint planning.
- Shepherd projects in progress by communicating their status as well as flagging unexpected problems and opportunities.
- Identify potential risks and issues that may impact on project delivery and timelines.
- Continually improve our processes so that as a team we are:
- - efficient in fielding, collating, and prioritising new requests, issues, and other opportunities.
- - mindful of looking after each other’s health, happiness, and development.
- - aware of and motivated by the wider impact of our work, both positive and negative.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the product and engineering teams.
- Engage, empower and support engineering team members to make a meaningful contribution in sprint planning, retros and planning activities
- Encourage a positive team culture and participate in team-building activities.
Responsibilities
- Solid grasp of project management and agile delivery processes and principles.
- Experience working as a project manager or scrum master (we use Jira/Confluence), and collaborating with engineers, product managers and UI/UX designers.
- Experience working on a software application/product.
- Effective communication, whether it’s aligning with your team or managing the expectations of stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, ask the right questions to identify challenges.
- Ability to break a complex problem into smaller chunks and make good trade-offs based on the relative value and effort involved in a solution.
- Ability to use data to help evaluate, iterate, and scale solutions.
- Passion for teaching, learning, and making a social impact.
- Kind/positive/playful attitude that embraces change, agility and diversity within teams and working environments.
