Description

As a Business Development Assistant, you will be working closely with the wider Food Client Engagement Team to help grow Oritain’s presence in the Food Sector. You will play a key role in the pre-and post-sales processes as well as assist with the market and prospective client research, sales campaign execution, support senior sales team members throughout the sales and contracting process and help support the implementation of new services.
You will be required to work with several of our Business Development experts supporting clients from around the world. You will work closely with a range of people from scientists to our operations team and it is imperative to be able to build good relationships with people from all areas of our business. Strong communication skills, a willingness to listen and an open mind will be key to help achieve this.

Responsibilities

  • Professionally qualified with a bachelor’s degree in commerce (or science).
  • Strong sales and business acumen with a commitment and drive to achieve personal and company goals.
  • ‘Self-starter’ and strategic thinker with an ability to identify new opportunities, set clear sales objectives and see them through from the initial cold call to a signed contract.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and organisational skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable interpersonal style to influence others, share ideas and problem-solve.
  • Ambitious, enthusiastic, and highly motivated with a desire to succeed as well as tenacity and resilience are essential.
  • Hard-working with a strong work ethic and independently motivated to drive sales.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong collaborative interpersonal business relationships.
  • Resilient and able to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge and experience with business tools and systems, including computers and MS 365.
  • Multi-lingual (preferred although not a requirement).
