Medical Interpreter

Description

  • The Medical Interpreter will precisely and accurately interpret critical medical advice and information given by the provider into equivalent terminology in the patient's native language (Spanish).
  • The Medical Interpreter will provide translation via video chat, phone calls, and other communication mediums.
  • The Medical Interpreter will assist in translating medical text from English to Spanish, may translate forms, patient education information, etc., as requested.
  • The Medical Interpreter establishes and maintains quality service and positive interaction with all patients, clients, healthcare providers, and clinic staff.
  • The Medical Interpreter will assist with patient follow-up as necessary, to include contacting patients with appointment reminders.
  • The Medical Interpreter will maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA and AnovaWorks policies and procedures.
  • The Medical Interpreter will provide occasional services outside of normal working hours on as as-needed basis.
  • The Medical Interpreter will perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Excellent Written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in navigating computer programs and software
  • Current knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Certification/Licensure Interpreter/Translator Certificate and/or Certificate of Competency from an approved Interpreter/Translator training program (required)
