Translator/Document Control Specialist

Description

  • Translate, revise, proofread and finalize a wide variety of Quality controlled documents (SOPs/Work Instructions/Forms/Templates) from English to French and vice versa with minimal supervision within the set deadlines and priorities, ensuring correctness of language, accuracy of meaning, formatting, and layout.
  • Ensure that the document translations are done as per appropriate change management function.
  • Wherever applicable, applying basic technical writing skills to ensure documents are build/translated as per Good Documentation Practices (GDP) having appropriate formatting, layout, content accuracy, accuracy of document and revision numbers etc.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure that translations are consistent across the site.
  • Deliver finalized documents or communications material in terms of translated content, format, and layout.
  • Help various departments in facilitating the training process by translating their training documents (Both controlled and uncontrolled i.e., ppts, flow charts etc.) from English to French and vice versa.
  • As per need basis, act as a translator in live training sessions such as classroom training or online presentations.
  • Provide translation advice and assistance to colleagues from document control team and other departments.
  • Ensure that the translations adhere to company’s policies and procedures as well as Quebec’s language laws.
  • Other tasks/projects as assigned by Document Control Supervisor/Quality System Function Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field
  • Minimum 1 year experience in translation of Quality controlled documents in a manufacturing industry.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with basic technical writing skills.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, excel and Adobe.
  • “Organized” and “Detail Oriented” with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French (Bilingual).
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Proven time management skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks of varying complexity with conflicting priorities in a busy working environment.
  • Curriculum Vitae should demonstrate how strong translation writing skills have been acquired and developed.
  • Direct experience of translating Quality controlled documents in Cannabis or Food industry.
  • Experience in using any e-QMS software.
  • Advanced technical writing skills in Cannabis or Food industry.
