Trainee Translator, Helsinki

Description

We are currently looking for a part-time trainee translator to our Language and Translation Service with a particular focus on Swedish translations (Finnish-Swedish-Finnish and English-Swedish-English). You will be working in our cross-border Language and Translation Service alongside our three full-time English translators. What this means in practice is that you will be working for both our Helsinki and Stockholm offices but you will be based in Helsinki. In addition to translating, you will also be proofreading and editing texts in Swedish, Finnish, and English. Thus, you are expected to be fluent in all three languages.

Responsibilities

While we do not have any specific educational requirements, we do expect you to consider yourself a true language professional and that you are reliable and efficient by nature. We hope that you have a positive attitude and an eye for detail and that you enjoy perfecting the minor, and not so minor, details of a text.

As a trainee translator, you will have an excellent opportunity to gain work experience from the field of legal translation while working at a Nordic law firm. Your job description will be similar to that of our full-time translators, however with an emphasis on the translation of Swedish-language texts. Our translations cover anything and everything from informal e-mail messages to court judgments.
