Description

We are looking for a full-time Italian Language Manager to take ownership of the Italian version of our platform. This role is based at our European office in Berlin, and we have a flexible working policy with the possibility of working remotely 50% of your time.

The Headout Localisation Team oversees the localisation of our marketing, website, and product content into several languages, and as a key member of this team, you will develop and shape our voice in Italian and make sure the content is relevant for the local user. Localisation is key in driving international launches in the company, and the role comes with opportunities for fast evolution and growth. Reporting to the localisation program manager, you will own the quality of the Italian language at Headout, and will play an important part in developing the processes and workflows together with the rest of the team, working closely with key stakeholders in the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Italian localisation for the wide array of content at Headout, from marketing material to the website UI
  • Own the quality and consistency in style across platforms
  • Manage a pool of freelancers for your language
  • Develop and maintain the Headout style guide and glossaries for Italian
  • Translate and proofread content from English into Italian
  • Perform quality checks on the content and format of the localised products
  • Proactively provide input on the localised UI and design to improve the Italian user experience

Requirements

  • Native Italian speaker with excellent English speaking and writing skills
  • Experience in translation and/or localisation, preferably in a travel, marketing, or e-commerce context
  • Experience with CAT tools and/or content editing and management software
  • BA or MA in linguistics or translation studies preferred
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and writing skills
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to changes, prioritise tasks, and work under tight deadlines
  • Proactive, motivated, and able to work both independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team
