Localization Specialist, Content

This position reports to the Project Manager Content Localization and works with various vendors and multiple internal teams to schedule, budget and manage high quality, on time delivery of series and film localization production.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with Originals Project Managers to manage localization delivery processes and creation of localized version with dubbing studios.
    • When OV Originals Series delivery is complete, works with QC Manager to create pre-QC proxy files and post to Dubbers (proxy, script, etc).
    • When OV Originals Series delivery is approved, works with QC Manager to create QC Approved proxy and posts Proxy and Protools to Dubbers and CPLA.
    • When OV Originals Series metadata is approved, works with Metadata team to submit for translations.
    • When OV Originals Series delivery is received, works with Localization and QC teams to track incoming localization assets and positions content for QC, and updates POA as needed.
    • Partners with Originals Project Managers to manage internal production schedules (project planning, coordination, delivery, and reporting), and POA.
  • Partners with Originals Project Managers to onboard new localization projects and vendors, providing access to localization technical specs, KNP templates.
  • Partners with Originals Project Managers on any acquisition dubbing project and asset trafficking as needed.
  • Partners with Originals Project Managers to execute technical QC evaluation and communicates resolutions with both external vendors and internal QC teams.
  • Works with Localization/Compliance and QC teams to track Compliance assets and positions content for QC, updates POA as needed.
  • Works with Localization and QC teams to archive approved localization assets on SPI drive.
  • Partners with Originals Project Managers to onboard localization vendors with finance team and processes invoicing to AP team including preparation of wire transfer requests.
  • Incorporates industry best practices into our localization and translation practices.
  • Identify challenges and inefficiencies in workflow and systems, working with upper management to find pathways to improvement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film and/or Video Production or similar discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in film/television/internet distribution, cable television and/or broadcast satellite services within depth knowledge of audio/video file formats, codecs, bitrates, frame rates, television standards, film formats, video resolutions, aspect ratios, broadcast audio configurations and electronic delivery technologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of post-production workflow, encoding/transcoding processes.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives to delivery in localization, international product development, or other international business contexts.
  • Knowledge of industry standard dubbing, localization, subtitling, and editing tools.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional and cross-cultural environment.
  • Knowledgeable in NLE software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, AVID) and all Mac and Microsoft Office applications including, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint software applications.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment tracking multiple projects in various stages with demonstrated problem-solving ability and a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence and partner with internal and external teams to deliver tactical and strategic solutions. Able to work through conflicts to negotiate win/win solutions and project a positive image of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service demeanor and attitude.
  • Fluency in Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese a plus.
