Project Manager (Road Surfacing)

Operating out of our Southwest area office, you will have responsibility for multiple crews and supervisors operating at any one time across the project. Ideally with a background in Asphalt (desirable but not essential) you will get involved at all stages of the contract, managing the work to completion at the usual high standard. 

What will you bring?

  • Strong track record working in a similar role within the surfacing industry
  • Civil engineering background is desirable 
  • IT literate (Word, Excel, programming applications, CAD)
  • Health & Safety training 
  • Proactive in approach, organised and methodical 
  • Ability to work with employees across the organisation at varying levels of seniority 
  • Ability to engage well with customers 

Responsibilities

  • Being an integrated part of the client team operating as a collaborative partner, whilst managing the project.
  • Ensuring that all works on the project are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with the contract
  • Managing teams, planning future workload to meet the targets of the contract plan and monitoring production outputs.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate orders are placed for materials and plant to ensure efficient production balancing cost against client value and adherence to standards.
  • Managing supply chain contractors in accordance with the contract or scheme requirements.
  • Ensuring that accurate site records are maintained and where necessary measuring and valuing work, liaising with the surveyor and the customer representative.
  • Liaising with our customers to seek innovation and improvements.
  • Using your understanding of the latest NEC contracts and commercial acumen to support the quantity surveying functions providing clear and accurate information to ensure we get the best outcomes
