The Director, Sales GTM Apps is the IT leader with accountability for the applications that support Workday’s go to market organizations supporting Sales. To meet the company’s financial and strategic business objectives, this leader builds trusted relationships with business leaders and teams that result in aligned focus on delivering outcomes and experiences. This focus will be supported by a clear technology and information strategy, prioritized plans, disciplined execution and predictable, competent delivery of day-to-day technology and information services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leverage deep technical experience in the CPQ and development space to guide development activities and provide architecture design direction.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for direct technical areas, managing Business Systems Analyst, Quality Assurance and Development.  
  • Partner with the cross functional GTM development team to build technical foundation to support a growing platform. 
  • Accountable for the technical development and delivery of all projects and initiatives within the GTM IT team - balancing resourcing, prioritization, budgets and technical solutions.
  • Builds a high-performance technical development/delivery team that can effectively execute and deliver.
  • Align as a trusted advisor and strategic team member in order to understand business unit challenges and plan future business technology solutions.
  • Build a clear platform roadmap including new capability authorization, service maturity milestones, inter-dependency mapping, value articulation, user adoption targets, and re-use goals.
  • Leverage deep technical and development acumen to lead solution development and make decisions both within and between different solution platforms.
  • Collaborate with architecture to develop technical standards and align on solution recommendations.
  • Manage defined budget by optimizing spend to maximize delivery by the development team, leveraging both onshore and offshore models. 
  • Utilize the appropriate technologies and ensure that functional partners have the solutions they need, when they need them, and in the media best suited to their requirements.
  • Responsible for service measurements & continuous improvements including platform health, operational excellence in quality of delivery, and performance to SLAs.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiations, and process for onboarding.
  • Maintain view of technology trends and how they can support successfully solving business challenges, applying new ideas and lessons learned.
  • Provide leadership for and build a skilled IT development and business system analyst team capable of partnering with cross-functional / geographic leaders with accountability for ensuring technology and information products, services and experiences empower their stakeholders to compete in the marketplace.
  • Establishes a predictable track record of agile and cost-effective delivery of measurable outcomes resulting from disciplined management of the IT investment portfolio, while minimizing technical debt.
  • Functions as an advocate for the Workday Culture. Provides inspiration and leadership to IT staff and demonstrate the characteristics of a leader that build respect within and for the IT team.
  • Established trusted and collaborative working relationships with external business partners, technology providers and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree & 15 years of directly related experience and 10 years of managerial experience directly managing people/development teams.
  • Advanced Degree in Computer Science or MBA preferred.
  • Deep technical experience with Salesforce.com and CPQ is required; preferably hands-on development experience within the last 10 years.
  • Demonstrated background in IT Technology development roles, preferably with a high-tech company.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Agile SCRUM teams for the delivery of Salesforce and other technology projects and enhancements on an aggressive schedule.
  • Demonstrated track record of partnering effectively with global and geographically distributed teams to successfully deliver information and technology solutions.  
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering transformational initiatives to deliver business value and delivering financially.   
  • Experienced with IT fundamentals including Agile, Enterprise Architecture, Information Risk Management, ITIL, and IT Service Management
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
