The Role:

Senior Project Managers are creative problem solvers whose expertise allows them to guide complex project across the entire brand experience, this includes brand, comm’s and digital. Senior PMs must have strong leadership skills to help them oversee the project team’s activities, as they are accountable for the overall quality of work in conjunction with team leads, ensuring requirements are met and projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within scope.

 

Senior Project Managers are ultimately responsible for managing all aspects of the project life cycle from initiation through to delivery and must be intimately familiar with the roles played by Creative, Design, Content, Production, User Experience, Development and Quality Assurance. Whether it’s advising on the feasibility of requirements, validating UX deliverables, understanding user and business goals, or planning to build and test across different platforms, devices and operating systems, the only thing that is certain is that no one day is ever the same.

 

 

The responsibilities of the role:

  • Participate in business development activities, writing proposals, developing scope, estimates, and delivering pitches
  • Execute the agency’s complex projects / programmes, leading the scoping and planning of these: owning statements of work, project plans, estimations, tracking and updating documentation through the project life-cycle
  • Responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered to time and budget
  • Work with account and discipline leads to develop scope, timing and pricing based on business, user and functional requirements.
  • Lead the mobilisation of project teams (lead kick-offs and follow internal resourcing processes)
  • Lead the day to day management of project teams
  • Define responsibilities and allocation of tasks with the project team
  • Identify, manage and monitor project risks, issues and assumptions
  • Own client communication through the course of the project delivery
  • Be a strong collaborator and negotiator through the project
  • Communicate project requirements clearly to ensure unity and understanding between the team
  • Weekly status reporting to both internal and external stakeholders e.g. team, client, line manager, Client Services team
  • Track the project actual time and expenses incurred
  • Accurate understanding of revenue forecast across all your projects to help Account Director accurately complete the Financial Forecast
  • Keep a close eye on your projects ensuring that you’re aware of all activity and approvals
  • Juggling multiple projects
  • Lead by getting the most out of your teams, be it creative, strategy, user experience or technology
  • Quality assurance, making sure the right resources have reviewed and signed off work before it is presented
  • Lead on client presentations
  • Responsible for managing clear client feedback, team comms and implementation
  • Responsible for Client sign-off on key project deliverables
  • Work with Quality Assurance teams to formulate testing strategy
  • Define and document best practices and contribute to department knowledge sharing effort
  • Oversee and mentor junior/intermediate project managers

Senior Project Managers are flexible and creative in their approach whilst leading on best practices put in place by the Delivery team; they should be focused, results driven, persuasive and have strong negotiating skills. They are great communicators, motivators and project managers with an innate ability to 'get things done'. As a result they wear many hats. They advise teams and clients on best practices, scope and budgets, concepts and work. They are able to build strong, resilient relationships with internal departments and external clients.

They will be someone who possesses the below skills and experience:

 

  • Experienced in managing of creative and development teams of up to 10+ people
  • Ability to build strong and trusting relationships both with internal and external parties
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Skilled at Interfacing with developers with an understanding of UI build technologies (HTML, CSS, JS)
  • Exposure to agile / iterative methodologies
  • Experience in managing third party suppliers
  • Experience with brand and design work
  • Experienced in delivery digital UX and frontend build projects
  • Entrepreneurial skills, continuously on the lookout for new business opportunities and ways to pre-empt client opportunities
  • Previous digital experience required - comfortable working in a mixed creative and technical environment
  • Demonstrable experience of successful delivery of project budgets valued £200k+
  • Confident with Client management and able to effective represent the company in Client interactions
