Translations.com is looking for a Technical Writer to join our exciting "startup-like environment" where you can display your creative talents and grow with us! Our cutting edge technology suite GlobalLink offers our clients the opportunity to go global by launching multilingual websites in as little as 30 days. As a Technical Writer, you will create technical publications for software products using a structured-authoring, DITA-based, Component Content Management System. This position has a heavy emphasis on creating Online Help for a variety of audiences.

 

GlobalLink Technical Documentation supports a variety of software development teams by creating technical communications for products that integrate with e-commerce, CMS, marketing automation, PIM, and database platforms to easily and effectively manage a variety of multilingual content and resources.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and scope product document requirements.
• Work directly with others such as product managers and trainers to understand the product.
• Gather information from product tracking tools.
• Organize material to create outlines and drafts.
• Provide time estimates and status updates.
• Use style guides to write, edit, update and maintain documentation for multiple outputs using XML.
• Create and edit images according to team guidelines.
• Manage Review workflows using an online review platform.
• Provide peer reviews for other writers on the team.
• Deliver documentation on-time and within budget.
• Contribute to team knowledge and resources.
• Work collaboratively in a small team environment
• Proactively address or communicate challenges, concerns, and process improvements.
• Perform special projects and duties as required.

About You

As a Technical Writer you are a:

• Creative thinker – You are curious and unafraid to ask questions
• Hard worker – You are industrious and diligent in everything you do
• Innovator – You are willing to initiate changes and introduce new ideas

You experience includes:

·      Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or Communications or relevant work experience

• 3+ years of technical writing experience.
• Experience with DITA and generating Online Help in a CCMS is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to plan and implement projects from start to finish.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts with the ability to find information sources.
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
• Localization industry experience a plus
