Business Development Manager - Horticulture or Utilities

About the role

You will be responsible for identifying and delivering new, profitable maintenance contracts to support the business growth strategy. Main duties include – supporting the delivery of the overall sales target as well as your own sales target, maintaining and developing a wide network of contacts, building relationships in the chosen sectors, keeping up to date with current market conditions and competitor activity, ensuring a robust bid / no bid process is applied to all opportunities, coordinating and managing new opportunities through pre-qualification, tender and post tender stages, technical writing, preparing a thorough handover to the operational team, managing an existing portfolio of key clients, representing the business at meeting and networking events and maintaining salesforce data to ensure accurate reporting.

Responsibilities

My client is looking for an experienced business development professional who has a proven track record in Horticulture (landscaping, grounds maintenance, vegetation) or Utilities (water, sewage, electricity or natural gas). Training will be provided if your experience lies within only one of these sectors. You must be confident bringing in new business as well and maintaining relationships with existing clients. Flexibility to travel is essential.
