National Business Development Manager (Remote)

Reporting to the General Manager for Express Asphalt you will utilise your strong commercial acumen and track record of delivering growth to develop our commercial strategy across our asphalt product portfolio, retail and e-commerce whilst improving our customer experience. 

 

Key elements to the role include:

  • Leading and developing our E-commerce strategy and tools to increase sales and convenience as well as social media and marketing activity.
  • Managing our product ranges in shops, including point of sale material, pricing, supply chain and sales training. 
  • Establishing relationships with key customers and identifying opportunities to enhance our service and product offering, whilst also increasing our sales and margin.
  • Leading our new product development, ensuring product launches, marketing collateral and training is effective.
  • Tracking our competitor activity to ensure we always remain ahead of our competitors
  • Managing our annual customer survey, advising on strategy based on findings.
  • Identifying expansion opportunities and supporting the GM with business cases.

 

This is a home-based position with a national remit, with the expectation that you will travel regularly between sites across England (stretching from Huddersfield to Exeter) and into Southwest Wales to keep connected with the business and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Previous experience operating at a similar level, in a comparable industry environment preferred (although not entirely essential)
  • Ability to demonstrate proven sales growth via multiple sales channels.
  • Strong academic qualifications with IT skills, as well as digitally savvy
  • Intuitive and adaptable, able to build strong relationship quickly with customers, sales professionals and colleagues across all levels 
  • Ability to inspire and engage colleagues to make it happen
  • Experience of developing and delivering an E-Commerce sales strategy 
  • Demonstrable sales business development experience 
  • Able to travel and flexibility to cover a national remit
