Within the field of mechanical engineering, you are responsible for the integration of process lines and construction/upgrade of machines.

 

  • You lead projects
  • You play a role as team member/manager of subprojects for mechanical concept, design, construction, commissioning, and handover
  • You assist project engineers/managers in addressing the mechanical engineering aspects of their project. You take on the role of sounding board or challenger (e.g. layout of line concept, layout of machine specifications)
  • If necessary, you take on the role of technical specialist for machines in B.I.G. projects
  • You advise on choices of manufacturing technology, ‘Make or buy’, New or second hand
  • You investigate the applicability within B.I.G. of new concept and design technologies, and introduce them (e.g. simulation)

 

 

Within the infrastructure domain, you are responsible for investment projects such as the construction of sites, expansion/ modification of existing sites or in the relocation of assets between sites.

  • You take on the role of team member/manager of sub-projects for the scope infrastructure, utilities and/or construction works from concept to final delivery and handover

Responsibilities

Competencies and skills

  • You have a Master degree in electromechanics
  • You have 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering (design and/or construction). You have minimum 2 years of experience as a project engineer. Additional training in project management is a plus
  • You are organized, pro-active, goal oriented, hands-on, autonomous
  • You are resilient, mentally agile, a team player and have good communication skills
  • You can negotiate well and report in a structured way
  • You are willing to travel frequently within Belgium and Northern France in the context of projects or travel sporadic internationally in the context of B.I.G. worldwide projects (generally limited to 1 week)

You have a good and fluent knowledge of Dutch, English and French.
