Translation/Localization Project Manager (Remote)

  • Translation, Localization, Interpretation Jobs

Description

Mother Tongue Writers is a translation agency, based in Bankside, London SE1 and specializing in the creative translation of advertising and marketing copy. We are currently hiring a translation/localization project manager.

We are looking for a skilled linguist with a keen eye for detail, and the multitasking abilities to thrive in a fast-moving environment. It is important for this role that you are absolutely fluent in English and at least one other language. You may be an English native speaker who is fluent in a second language, or a native speaker of another language. You must have the right to work in the UK.

The main focus of the role is managing translation projects. You will oversee work in many languages (often at the same time), and manage relationships both with clients and copywriters/translators. Great communication skills (by phone/VC and online) and familiarity with modern office software are essential. Experience with CAT tools/TMS systems is also a plus, as is an informed perspective on the future direction of the industry.

In addition, you will at times review and edit translations produced by our writers in your native language, and assist in recruiting and testing potential new writers.

Due to the Covid pandemic, all our staff are currently working from home. Experience of remote working is therefore an advantage, as you will need to get familiar with our culture and ways of working, and integrate into our team, with little (or possibly no) face-to-face time. We anticipate that in the medium-term future, the role will involve a mixture of home and office working. You should live within commuting distance of central London.

At Mother Tongue we have an underlying belief that our agency and the services we offer should reflect the society in which we live. Be that Age, Disability, Education, Ethnicity, Gender, Gender identity, National Origin, Religion or Sexual Orientation.  Simply, we believe that Inclusion and Diversity makes for a more stimulating and inspiring working environment, where people are treated with respect and can be comfortable being themselves. Embracing these different approaches and thinking helps deliver tangible and positive results for our clients’ businesses.
