Welcome to ENGIE Generation Europe! This Business Unit of ENGIE has the ambition to become the perfect complement to renewable energy and to proactively guide the industry into its energy transition!
Currently we are looking for a Competence & Training Manager (CTM) within EMS. EMS (European Maintenance Services, part of ENGIE Generation Europe) is responsible for the specialized maintenance of turbines, alternators, high-voltage installations and boilers of power plants.

Your main mission is to ensure that all staff within EMS are well and qualitatively trained in their “métier”.

 

To do so:

  • You are responsible for the development of Competences, Training and Knowledge Management for your perimeter;
  • You participate to the elaboration of the BU Training strategy for the coming years, you translate this vision on the field and ensure the realization of it;
  • You play the role of a relay between the BU and the local entities by participating actively to the BU GEN training network and at the same time representing your perimeter’s needs, working in close collaboration with the local ecosystem;
  • Based on your knowledge, on the input from the perimeter, on the future plans, you establish a long term view/plan on development needs (yearly & Mid-term);
  • As a technical and training expert, you use your O&M experience to support the local management regarding Competences, Training & Knowledge management:
    • you understand the actual needs of the teams
    • you are in charge of providing appropriate & efficient development and training actions (classical, online, on-the-job, …) within your entity
    • you play an advisory role towards the local management regarding these topics
    • you take part to projects regarding trainings, competences matrix for critical functions, development tracks, …(operator, shift leader, …)
    • you monitor and take care of the quality of the trainings provided
  • You organize and follow-up all mandatory safety trainings (certificates expiration), you challenge their scope and periodicity and report on a regular basis to the local management about it;
  • You make the best use of the development tools offer by the Group/BU HR/Talent team and you work in close collaboration with the BU HR/Talent Team to provide learning solutions on non-technical aspects(behavioral, managerial, …);
  • You are the point of contact regarding competences and knowledge management during internal and external audits (certification);
  • You monitor the training budget in your perimeter and you report about it to your management;
  • You are hierarchically responsible for the internal trainers that develop the content and for the training support administrator(s) of your entity, ensuring an efficient administrative process (from organization to invoicing);
  • You have a functional line with the content experts in your perimeter;
  • In your function as CTM/CIM you report directly to the Head of Innovation, Digital & Knowledge of EMS.

 

 

YOUR CHALLENGE as CIM

  • Beside CTM you also act as CIM (Continuous Improvement Manager).  In this role you coach the teams in the field for the correct use and implementation of technical quality documents like procedures, instructions and measurement protocols.
  • Together with the teams, you are constantly looking for possible technical operational improvements. So you detect, initiate, guide and supervise the potential improvement tracks, and this in close cooperation with the operational and expert teams. 

Responsibilities

  • You have a Bachelor or a Master degree;
  • You have a serious technical background and interest;
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in Generation (Operations, Maintenance), having already an established network of the industrial and training ecosystem is an asset;
  • You are at ease with coaching and developing people;
  • You have a very good knowledge of Dutch, French and English (oral and written);
  • You have good communication skills and dare to be challenging when needed;
  • You are customer oriented & close to the field;
  • You will be part of an international team and environment. So travel is a requirement.  You will be roughly 3 days a week in the field, mainly spread over France, The Netherlands and Belgium.
  • You are able to think in a pragmatic & strategic way to capitalize on existing processes while at the same time dare to innovate;
  • You are a real team player (with the other colleagues in the BU GEN training organization), eager to share experiences and to improve;
  • You are excellent in leading change, team building and networking;
  • You demonstrate the ability to present ideas persuasively to provide insight, gain buy-in, and/or steer others to specific outcomes forward to operational excellence;
  • You are able to translate (future) business development into development plans and needs;
  • You are willing to work in the different operational sites of BU Generation EU;
  • As CTM you have a strong safety and environmental awareness. You always take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues!

 

 

WORK LOCATION

You will be part of an international team and environment. So travel is a requirement.  You will be roughly 3 days a week in the field, mainly spread over France, The Netherlands and Belgium.
