Responsibilities may include: accurately translating a variety of educational documents or materials from English to Spanish or from Spanish to English; ensuring translations are idiomatic in nature, representing the local (San Diego) and/or regional (southern California) Spanish dialects; suggesting text modification, from near verbatim translation, to better accommodate Spanish readers/users to Program Manager as needed; clearly articulating when and where text modifications have been made to ensure for accuracy of document/material and intended message.

• Fluent in spoken and written Spanish and English.

• Ability to translate from English to Spanish and Spanish to English.

• Proven knowledge of English and Spanish vocabulary, linguistics and grammar to provide accurate interpretation and translation.

• Familiarity and ability to translate written English into regionally familiar and idiomatically accurate written Spanish.

• Experience translating English to Spanish documents, including educational materials, for a variety of audiences/users.

• Proficient research and analytical skills.

• Translation Certification required.

• Preferred: Experience translating documents related to Institutional Review Boards, healthcare or brain health.
